The beautifully restored Ukrainian Hall. Wood floors, big stage, a real classy place.
Built in 1928, this building was restored to its original beauty in early 2007. The hall is home of Ukrainian Canadians in Vancouver, a community known for its mandolin orchestra, choir and perogy dinners. It was the venue that was home to the labour and union movements in Vancouver throughout the war years and beyond. The venue itself is lovely and the sense of history in it adds a richness to events held there. |

The Blue Morris 6 is Vancouver's new swing band. The group was formed by Blue initially with one goal in mind: to create music that's great for swing dancing! Since then the band has gained a following in Vancouver with both dancers and non-dancers alike. The band has a sound similar to the 1940s & 50s small-group swing bands, but with a bluesy twist. |
