 The Blue Morris 6 Swing Band is included in the Maple Ridge Jazz & Blues Festival ads this year. I just found this ad in this week's Georgia Straight. Last year we performed as part of the "Emerging Talent Showcase" so I don't think we were included in any ads. At least I didn't see any. But this year we have emerged!
I was sitting in a movie theatre last night waiting for Ratatouille to start. To pass the time I was flipping through the Georgia Straight and there I saw us right there on the page!
It looks like it's going to a be a great festival this year. There are 13 or so bands playing and it's just $20 to get in to see them all! I'm looking forward to seeing Fourth Street Django and Sonny Rhodes.
By the way, Ratatouille is a great movie. I'm hoping there is a soundtrack because there was some great music in the movie, some of it jazz.
