ImageThis month at Trees we featured two original compositions by Blue Morris, "Blues for Carly" and "The Blonde On My Tail."

I spent months trying to persuade Carly to sing "Blues for Carly," which I wrote for her. You just have to hear it to understand her reluctance. It was well worth it! She sings it so well, now she's just going to have to sing it again! You can download it below. It's hilarious!

MP3s have been removed for archival purposes, sorry.

Since our last gig at Trees Cafe focused on the blues, this month we thought we'd play more up-tempo swing songs. It was great to see people lindy-bombing in the cafe again!

Here's the copy we had on the poster this month:

Blue Morris is the reclusive swing guitarist who has played in numerous bands but has now formed a swing and blues band under his own direction. Rumours have been spreading about the band, especially surrounding its very talented singer, Carly Jepsen. However, little is known of Blue, so we put our ears to the ground and asked around.

WHO IS BLUE?

"I love dancing to Blue's band. I love dancing WITH Blue!" -- Mimi Mimosa, Kitsilano.

"Blue swings my Shanghai" -- Amy Lee, Shanghai

Blue stole my goyl. If you sees 'im, lemme know." -- Guy with massive pipes, Langley

Blue can blues me any day!" -- Betty B., Burnaby

Who is Blue? Isn't that a cartoon dog?" -- Steph

"There's no stopping that guy." -- Highway Patrolman, I-5 Washington State

Blue owes me 5 G's" -- Jimmy the Snake, Chicago
